Six-month dental cleanings
Dental cleanings are part of every regular dental checkup at our office. One of our hygienists will scrape plaque and tartar away from your teeth, brush them with a high-powered buffing tool, and floss to remove remaining particles. This leaves your teeth bright and shiny, and lets our hygienist do a basic oral exam!
Six-month dental check-ups & examinations
After your dental cleaning is done, one of our doctors will perform a comprehensive oral exam, looking for problems like gum disease and tooth decay (cavities). Depending on your results, you’ll either get a clean bill of health or schedule follow-up treatments to make sure your teeth stay healthy.
Digital x-rays for your teeth and oral health
We use digital x-rays to minimize radiation exposure and get insights into your oral health. With x-rays, we can see beyond your gums and teeth, and look for signs of hidden oral health issues that may be a cause for concern.
What is Fluoride
Fluoride is a natural mineral that builds strong teeth and prevents cavities. It’s been an essential oral health treatment for decades. Fluoride supports healthy tooth enamel and fights the bacteria that harm teeth and gums.
Fluoride is especially helpful if you’re at high risk of developing dental caries, or cavities. Cavities occur when bacteria build up on teeth and gums and form a sticky layer of plaque. Our office offers fluoride treatments in the form of a highly concentrated rinse, foam, gel, or varnish. The treatment may be applied with a brush, tray, or a rinse. You will be asked to avoid eating or drinking for 30 minutes after the treatment so the fluoride can fully absorb.
