How to Properly Floss Your Teeth

How to Floss
The first thing to do is measure and cut about 18 to 24 inches of floss from your dispenser to use. You will wrap one end of the floss around the middle finger on each hand to give you stability. Once you have the floss ready, you’ll want to hold it in a “C” shape around your tooth and move the floss up and down between each tooth in your mouth. Work it back in forth in a push-pull type motion to make sure that you dislodge any stuck food particles from between your teeth and around your gum line.
How Long Does It Take?
This should only take around two minutes at a time to properly clean between your teeth. If you do this after brushing your teeth, which should take a couple of minutes, you’re looking at around five total minutes to make sure your mouth is clean, and your oral health stays intact.
How Often Should I Floss?
Dentists recommend that you floss your teeth at least once daily so that you can help remove any bacteria and food that may be hanging around after brushing.
